Broccolino is the "risky and fun" translation for the word "Brooklyn", the neighborhood of New York which, between the latter half of the 1800s and the early decades of the 1900s, witnessed the establishment of a sizable Italian community, where they used to say “Bruuklino”. It is also a language that blends Italian dialectal elements, with English. These immigrants maintained a profound connection with Italy, but also they entered profoundly into the American culture.
